Bio-diversity conservation through community based natural resource management: Supported by UNDP/CCF-II/GOJ/IFP-Ranchi

Project focus:

i. Make the government policies and programmes more responsive to linkages between sustainable rural livelihoods and bio-diversity conservation in Trikut hill of Deoghar, Jharkhand.
ii. Enhancement of the capacity of the communities and institution of de-centralized governance for integrating sustainable bio-diversity based livelihoods through participatory approach in Trikut hill of Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Main Activities:

• Demography, resource and bio diversity survey of the project area
• Preparation of Peoples Bio-Diversity register
• Community mobilization through formation and strengthening CBOs to protect the bio-diversity of the area
• Capacity building of community towards alternation source of income
• Land and water source development and plantation
• District and State level advocacy for the policy change
